Nanyuki, Muranga Road Trip

You may be wondering why i call this a road trip when i do this trip every other month and since its my home there is nothing exciting about it.
After grabbing a matatu (a 7 seater luxury shuttle) to ourselves, we took off on the northern great road by the major renovations and improvements by the chinese company..towards Thika. Its always nice to take the shuttle as they have enough room space,,,its like you have your own private car.
Coming back to why this trip was amazing....The regions along this road, the mountain circuit, all the way to north Kenya have not had rain in 3 years, but something special happened and rain fell at the end of last year. This countryside was revitalised with amazing green cover and the views of mathioya hills and central highlands in mathira are just satisfying. There is a feeling of a rich, full and replenished farmlands and grasslands or Solio Ranch, State lodge area and outskirts of Nanyuki are breathtaking. The mountain is covered with thick rain clouds that promise more rain and its not long when am in town that it starts raining.

Nanyuki is quite a town of repute whose name precedes it. There is nothing to in town which says why its quite reknown across the globe. There is definitely a different aura from other towns in Kenya. For one there is a foreigner feeling like as the people are usually waiting for them to make business from them. Its like a frontier town tourists and truck drivers would stop for supplies, nightover, a drink at the saloon,,....
A quick lunch at Mountain rock cafe and we ride on a motor bike down to lunatic lane, - across the nanyuki bridge , turn off left at police station and the british army camp. The road is muddy "mundy if you like"
