So last weekend I did a tour of Central Kenya where temperatures are dropping every day. As I snaked down the hills of Muranga town towards Kiriani, the outside temperatures were 8 degrees Celsius.
The road is very good and the views reminiscent of mountain villages of green tea and coffee plantations.
I was looking forward to spend a night in the aberdares national park maybe at the Fishers camp near Mweiga, but changed my mind. I settled for Paresia Hotel in the heart of Nyeri town. I must say I was indeed disappointed or maybe I had always thought of how fancy it is inside during my 4 years in Nyeri back in the day.
The rooms are run down and we must have been the only occupants in the hotel for 800/=, water takes 1-2 hrs to heat up. The rates are ok compared to Batian Grand Hotel- 2800 for a double and Central hotel which is in a nice location and double rooms go for 1600 and 1800 for one with a TV. The meals are amazing at central especially the chicken, and a nice front yard bar.
Up soon will be the pics and memoirs from the Great Migration safari
