The park covers about 400 square km. Its biodiversity is rich of wildlife and flora; with over 70 species of mammals and over 400 species of endemic, local and migrant birds. Its home to large herds of elephant, wildbeest, zebra, masai giraffe, the long necked gerenuk (litocranius walleri), southern ground hornbill, various species of vulture etc.
